Imran Khan Reaches Court With Bulletproof Bucket On His Head

Jugaad is the language all desis speak fluently around the world. However, sometimes people take the spirit of jugaad too far. It was a bizarre sight when the former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan made his way to the anti-terror court with a bulletproof bucket on his head.

The video going around the internet has surprised many as people wonder about the functionality of such safety measures. In the clip, the ex-PM got out of his car at the court gate with a black bulletproof bucket working as a helmet while security personnel surrounded the former cricket star with hand-held shields.

The video, which people are apparently thinking was an elaborate sketch, was taken outside of the anti-terror court in Lahore that Khan was visiting in order to seek an extension of his bail in three cases filed against him.

In November last year, Imran Khan was under a life-threatening attack at a rally in Wazirabad. PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) has further claimed that Khan is still under fire and faces death threats which makes it important for him to travel under high security.

In the clip, the ex-PM is guided by an aide who helps Khan navigate the way to the court as he finds it hard to see the path with a metal hood on. People online turned the situation around and thought of making memes out of the stressful moment. Folks compared him with the American musician Marshmello and even to death row prisoners who often have a black hood covering their faces.

Some people wondered why the Prime Minister was not wearing a bulletproof vest but was surrounded by shields instead. One suggested, "Could've given him a bulletproof jacket.."

Another commented, "That's the stupidest kind of security I've seen.."

One user compared the moment to Victoria's Secret fashion show, "Kinda like their own take on the Victoria's Secret models with wings."

Another admitted that the setup would actually be one of the harder levels in a sniper video game, "That would make a challenging level in a sniper video game."

One user shared how the moment reminded them of a Woody Allen movie, "Like in woody Allen's ‘Sleeper’ where the only part of the assassinated leader that was recovered was the nose."

Even after Khan's decision to show up at the court was justified numerous times, people still could not believe the bizarre video. One echoed the sentiments of hundreds and wrote, "This can't be real."
