Rezvani Beast is a bulletproof, 1,000hp Corvette - PistonHeads UK

Oct 30, 2024

You might remember Rezvani from its 2019 Tank. It was built to survive the apocalypse and had a thousand horsepower, for some idea of the vibe. Now it has a new creation, for those that want to see the end of the world out in style: the Beast.

It is (or was) a C8 Corvette, and comes complete with that car’s 6.2-litre V8 engine. Only now it’s twin-turbocharged, naturally, for a thousand horsepower (why break with tradition?) and 878lb ft. So it ought to be able to make a swift escape from any sticky situations, including a 9.6-second quarter mile thanks to the traction of Michelin Cup 2R tyres. Apparently, the eight-speed DCT can handle the extra muscle, too. That being said, it doesn’t matter if your enemies do get within range, because the bodywork of the Rezvani (wasn’t that a GTA supercar?) is bulletproof. Of course it is. Or rather, there’s a $55,000 option that makes the Beast bulletproof, so it’ll probably retain this look. Just not in carbon fibre.

That’s really just the start of the extreme lengths Rezvani will go to with the Beast. There’s also something called a 007 Package (another $45,000, Mr Bond) which includes, and this is no joke, gas masks, a smokescreen, a pepper spray dispenser, magnetic deadbolts, electrified door handles, sirens, electromagnetic pulse protection and hypothermia kits. Plus, for the seriously paranoid supercar opener, an optional explosive detection system. And even an intercom, which seems strange given you’re surely not going to let anyone else in there. The interior has been reconfigured to allow for all the extra gadget buttons.

The option is there, of course, to forego all the silly stuff and just have a 1,000hp Corvette-based supercar that has a hint of Ferrari 296 GTB to it and be rarer than pretty much anything else: Rezvani plans to make just 20 Beasts. That being said, you’ll still pay for the privilege; even without the options, this is a $485,000 car, or just over £385,000. New carbon bodies and turbos don’t come cheap, and that’s before thinking about bulletproof glass. Rezvani says the Beast has been ‘created to stir your senses’ - reservations are being accepted now…
